Worldwide Family  Center, Inc. - Weatherization Program

Worldwide Family Center, Inc. (WFCI) is a community based, Non-Profit organization committed to servicing the public interest through promoting and implementing independent living through educational and technology for seniors and for low and moderate-income individuals in Illinois.

WFCI believes that a person has a right to live independently, have choices, benefit from an education, pursue meaningful careers and enjoy full inclusion and integration in the economic, political, social, cultural and educational mainstream of society in the United States.

WFCI is a Non-Profit Incorporation and would like to be certified by CEDA to provide housing, counseling to seniors and to low and moderate-income individuals. The objectives of the program are to provide the necessary foundation to consumers to develop competence and responsibility in meeting their housing needs, provide the necessary information and assistance to renter and homeowner to enable them to avoid rent delinquencies, mortgage defaults and foreclosures: provide housing consumers with information and assistance regarding CEDA, LIHEAP, Weatherization and Chicago Housing Authority programs.

WGCI plans to provide information and knowledge necessary to promote surveys of single, multifamily and seniors dwelling to identify weatherization issues.

Our program reveals that to counter loss of energy in homes, protective factors which audit and access the degree of the heat loss should be in place; the objective WFCI follows:

  1. To provide general guidance to the community.

  2. To promote personal and social responsibility to the growing cost of energy expenses.

  3. To encourage in participation in service and community activities.

Goals and Objectives

The primary goal of Worldwide Family Center, Inc. diversion program is to eliminate the risk factors that cause high energy bills. WFCI will also provide educational training on how to maintain the weatherization of home giving tips & strategies such as:

  3. Roofing Tips & Strategies

  4. Insulation Tips & Strategies

  5. Mechanical Systems Tips & Strategies
